There’s work to be done
Dear friends and supporters,
Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. I'm deeply moved by how many of you stepped into civic engagement, many for the first time, bringing fresh energy and perspective to our democratic process. From rugby teammates to working parents to community leaders, you showed up with enthusiasm and conviction. Your willingness to engage matters more than you know.
Last night's Senate District 31 election showcased an impressive, highly educated, slate of candidates that reflected our community's diversity. And while I did not emerge as our State Senator in this race, I'm proud of the campaign we ran and the meaningful conversations we had about our district's future.
As someone who loves both sports and democracy, I've learned that growth comes from honest reflection. When I went to meet my fellow POs, I heard consistent values: inclusion, meaningful action, and authentic community engagement. There's work to be done to align our actions with these values, starting right here in Denver. This isn't just about changing our messaging as a party - it's about walking our talk.
My work continues. I remain committed to helping Colorado families thrive, from improving healthcare with Meapta Inc. to finding summer camps for parents with @campster.kids , I put ideas into action and will continue to build stronger communities where everyone can afford to live and succeed.
I hope you'll stay engaged in making our democratic process work for everyone. Our district's future is bright because of community members like you, and I look forward to continuing our work together, just in a different capacity than we imagined.
With gratitude and grit,
Monica
